Wed 13 June 2012Royalty in the Forestby Richard Reeves, Librarian, Christopher Tower Reference LibraryThe power to create a forest is vested in the Crown and, as such, royalty has played a key role in the history of the New Forest. This talk links with the current special exhibition and examines the links between those of blue blood who visited or left their mark on the Forest we see today, following royal connections in the area from the foundation myths of Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms to Queen Elizabeth's visit in 1979. |
