Isobel Ross uses the sound of language to evoke a scene and the memory of it, whilst Caz Scott captures fleeting visions of her surroundings through quick and colourful sketches. Joan Scott, on the other hand, creates work that is imbued with a sense of place as captured whilst out walking. Saturday 21 April to Sunday 27 May 2012Layered Landscapes by Mary SuttonMary's inspiration comes from roaming the Forest and the Dorset coastline; capturing landscapes, plants and wildlife the catch her eye. Her compositions are derived from photographs and her images achieved through a process of collaging papers, plastics and fabrics and then 'drawing' over them in machine stitch. She says of her work "I find that through layers of sheer fabrics, I can create a sense of depth and atmosphere as with painting". |
