The New Forest Centre provides a range of exciting education packages designed for all ages.
A visit to the New Forest Exhibition is an ideal starting point for any group studying the New Forest.
Our education staff can provide a range of sessions tailored to the interests and needs of your group, ranging from a general introduction to the history of the New Forest to studies of equine behaviour.
Our most popular education package is the New Forest Commoning Day. This extremely popular day visit aims to increase awareness of daily life in the New Forest, and is led by Caroline Stride a practising commoner. It is designed to particularly suit junior school pupils
The day includes:

* A talk on Commoning and an introduction to the history of the New Forest.
* A role-play session in the Verderers’ Court, Queen’s House.
* A guided tour of a working Commoner’s smallholding at Bolderwood.
There are opportunities for questions throughout the day.
A typical day will last from 10am to 2.30pm.
Please note: schools must provide their own transport to Bolderwood. Free parking is available for single-decker coaches and cars.
